Among the ins and outs of countless footwear trends, there is one style that has stood the test of time—pumps—and for good reason. A great pair of pumps can dress up denim or polish a cocktail dress, and they’re fit for any setting from the office to happy hour. Buying a pair isn’t just a purchase, it’s an investment for days when you need a classic silhouette to add height to your look. So, here are our top 5 reasons why your closet should be stocked full of pumps.

A classic pair never fails
Neutral pumps are your best friend for days on the go. They will never go out of style, so you know you’ll always have a staple pair of heels to grab for last-minute events or rushed weekday mornings.

Dress up your casual attire
A pretty pair of pumps with fun details can put a fashion-forward spin on laid-back looks: Denim becomes instantly sophisticated and sundresses transform into evening wear.

Turn up the texture
A boost of texture can bring intrigue to a basic look. Adding bright and bold pumps is quick way to make any simple outfit pop.

Add feminine flair
With the menswear trend in full swing, pumps are a great tool for adding a girly touch to styles like boyfriend jeans and button ups. Try a pair with flirty scallops or sparkling studs.

Wear them year-round
Pumps work no matter the season. Opt for an open construction for spring and summer and transition to a more covered silhouette in the colder months.

Meet Allison Beal: The co-founder and CEO of StyleSaint, the LA-based, eco-friendly brand we’re beyond thrilled to be partnering with. We caught up with the trailblazing (and insanely stylish!) entrepreneur to talk work life, styling tips and how to keep your thirst quenched in the hot, hot heat.

1. What made you want to become an entrepreneur?
My “aha!” moment was realizing that a very serious change needed to happen in the fashion industry, and change the process by making it sustainable, ethical and cutting out the middle man. I started selling my deigns to my friends at wholesale prices, and they would tell me, “If we could get beautiful clothing at affordable price that are also ethical and sustainable, that would be incredible.” And I remember thinking, “If I could do that, I would be a style saint.” And everything grew from that.

2. Why did you want to partner with Sole Society?

We’re both here in Los Angeles with the goal of providing high-quality goods at affordable prices. We always want to finish the look with the perfect shoe or jewelry. So for us, Sole Society is the perfect sister company because we compliment each other and we’re both innovating the way we do that.

3. If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?
My husband and I write music together. So if I wasn’t a designer, I’d be a singer/songwriter or make sustainable furniture.

4. What are you three favorite Los Angeles neighborhoods?
The Arts District in Downtown, Venice Beach, and Beachwood Canyon.

5. What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
My husband and I always try to write music on the weekends. I love waking up on a Saturday or Sunday, getting a cup of coffee, sitting on our back porch and writing music together. Our neighbors must think we’re hippies! I also love hiking Griffith Park, going to El Matador Beach in Malibu, or seeing a show at the Hollywood Bowl.

6. What’s your go-to summertime beverage?
A great day is starting with iced coffee black and ending with really dry champagne over ice.

7. Favorite emoji:

8. What’s your easy, no-fuss summer styling tip? Say a desk-straight-into-dinner situation?
That’s the story of my life! For me, it’s all about a luxe tee that has a beautiful drape to it styled with a skirt.  I need something I can run around in all day – like run to breakfast, go to work, put on heels, some red lipstick and then head to dinner.
