Spring is definitely in sight and Emily of Life With Emily is the stellar example. We seriously obsessed with how she teamed the Perin Booties with white skinny denim, a floral top, tortoise printed sunnies and a white leather bag. What do you think?

Meet Madelyn Somers, the Creative Director at Francine Dressler. What and who is Francine Dressler? Madelyn’s mother’s maiden name who is also an incredible artist. The brand is made up of her fantastically cheeky art from the ’70s in Los Angeles that’s been  silkscreened on t-shirts and tanks. In a nut shell, we’re obsessed with Maddy and we love how she styled our booties.

1. Flats or heels? Heels. I’m always partial to the extra lift.

2. Plaid or leopard? Plaid, hands down.

3. How do you plan your daily looks? Well, since moving to NY I dress mostly in white, black, grey. It’s usually a variation of the same thing — a pair of trousers or skinny jeans, a t-shirt, oversized sweater, and a blazer with a heeled boot. I’d say my look is tomboy-chic.

4. What’s on your fashion radar for fall and winter? Winter whites, a leather jacket, Alexander Wang x H&M, and all the brands merging art+fashion.

5. A piece from your closet that you’ll never part with?  I have this beige patchwork/plaid long blazer that walks a fine line between ugly and amazing. I bought it at the Salvation Army for 7 bucks in Santa Cruz, California. I’ve had it for forever and it’s falling apart, but I love it so much.

6. Five celebrities/icons you’d invite to your dinner party?  Hmm…It would be a pretty eccentric dinner party: Michael Jackson, Andy Warhol, Wes Anderson, Patti Smith and Francine Dressler (ha!)

Instagram or Twitter?

Do I have to choose?! I love them both for different reasons – Instagram to share and discover great images and Twitter to chat with blog friends and fans. If I HAD to choose then Instagram wins.

Favorite Parisian dessert?

Macarons! Although I’ve never been to Paris, so maybe I’ll discover something more delectable during my adventures.

Chanel or Alexander McQueen?

Chanel. Always something classic to reach for!

Classic pumps or strappy heels?

3 years ago I would’ve said strappy heels, but now I typically reach for classic pumps to tie together an outfit. Guess that’s what happens when you get into your late twenties?! Eek!

Where do you find style inspiration?

Pinterest 80%. Work and blog friends 20%. On any given morning you can find me perusing my style board on Pinterest to get inspo for that day’s outfit.

We’ve always loved the effortlessly chic style of blogger Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam. So obviously we were thrilled when she styled the Saraa in red (a beautifully woven platform wedge) while hanging out in a marina. Here’s  Julia on her beloved wedges:

“As I’m slowly adding heels back into a few looks, I find that wedges are a lot more comfortable since your weight is more evenly distributed. How cute are these red Sole Society woven ones? They’re a great pop of color for summer- especially if you buy mainly neutral colored shoes like I do- and wedges make it easier to be outside on grass as well.”

Spotted: The always-stylish blogger Emily Jackson of Ivory Lane taking a summer stroll in the Rocio Wedges and sharing her essentials for the quickly approaching spring-into-summer transition.

We love how she teamed the strappy wedges with a drawstring chambray dress, embroidered clutch and oversized sunnies. Definitely has T.G.I.F. style written all over it.
