With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, it’s time once again to start making plans for the most romantic day of the year. Depending on what you’re into, February 14th can be celebrated in many different ways, from dressing to the nines for a scrumptious dinner date to simply snuggling up on the sofa for an all-night Netflix binge. This is the day to do whatever makes you and your partner the happiest!

If you’re still not sure about what to do, we sat down with some of our favorite social media mavens and asked what they really want out of Valentine’s Day, and their answers cover all the bases when it comes to comfort and love. Take a look at what makes these ladies happy and find out if you’re more of a Brittany, Mallory, or Erin when it comes to this special holiday.

SS: How would you describe the perfect setting and scenario for spending Valentine’s Day this year?

Brittany, Loverly Grey: “The perfect Valentine’s Day includes pizza and a romance movie on the couch with my hubby.”

Mallory, Style Your Senses: “My ideal Valentine’s Day looks quite a bit different than it used to. What sounds dreamy now is a day date with my husband … a yummy brunch, a fun brewery, live music, and maybe even a little shopping. With two small kids, we are so, so tired at night that it makes it hard to even have an evening date. During the day, we can enjoy each other and reconnect and do things that we normally wouldn’t be able to do with the kids in tow.”

Erin, Living in Yellow: “As much as I love a fancy dinner out, on Valentine’s Day I turn to cozy PJ’s, blankets, and takeout. A cozy night in with a glass of wine in-hand and my husband by my side; I’m a happy camper! Add in a game of cards and I’m even happier.”

SS: Based on your ideal V-Day date, tell us what your perfect outfit looks like.

Brittany: “I still love staying true to a theme, but given we are at home, I like to stick to a cute Valentine’s-themed sweatshirt and my favorite skinny jeans.”

Mallory: “I would wear a cute bell sleeve sweater, my favorite pair of skinny jeans, go-to suede booties, a fun cross body bag (since I can ditch the diaper bag for a day), and even a wool floppy hat. Casual and cool and still functional for a day date.”

Erin: “Comfy lounge pants, soft tee, and slippers!”

SS: In addition to Valentine’s Day, we’re also celebrating self-love this month! Do you plan on giving yourself a gift this month?

Brittany: “I am all about the ‘treat yourself’ mentality. I think new accessories are the way to go, whether it’s a new pair of earrings or new shoes.”

Mallory: “I’m gifting myself some time for Valentine’s Day. Taking time away from my family is always hard to do without the ‘mom guilt’ creeping in, but this year I am being intentional about taking time away for myself to regroup. Whether it be getting a manicure or massage, going for a run, or just sitting in Starbucks catching up on emails, I’m mindful about refilling my own cup and recharging with some time away.”

Erin: “Chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements. I recently discovered them and am sold. So good! Other than that, a new pair of booties for spring is a treat I can never turn down!”
